• Procure and install Equipment for Airport Lighting Control and Monitoring System (ALCMS) and Flood Lighting Control Panels.
• Elevators / Lift at the International Terminal Building.
Key Deliverables
• Baggage Handling System:An integrated system of conveyors, scanners, and control units designed to efficiently transport, sort, screen, and manage passenger baggage from check-in to aircraft loading and from arrival to reclaim areas.
International Departure:
1. Check-in & Dispatch/Induction Conveyors, handles initial baggage input and transfers luggage from check-in counters into the conveyor system.
2. Scale/Weighing Conveyor with Operator Panel at Departure Counter, measures baggage weight and allows operator control at the departure counter.
3. Collector Conveyor, gathers baggage from multiple check-in points into a single flow.
4. Metering/Queue Conveyor, regulates baggage flow to avoid congestion and ensure smooth processing.
5. Merge Conveyor, combines multiple conveyor lines into one streamlined path.
6. Diverters (Horizontal/Vertical), Redirects baggage to designated routes based on system requirements.
7. Security/Screening Conveyors, transports baggage through security scanning systems.
8. Baggage Make-up Carousel(Flat Slat Carousel), sorts and holds baggage for loading onto specific flights.
9. Slope/Incline Carousel, moves baggage between different elevation levels efficiently.
10. Interfacing with X-Ray Baggage Scanner,
11. PLC Based Control Panel with VFD,
12. Bag Jam Detection/Collision Detection using Proximity Photo Eyes (PE), Fixed Windowing, etc.PLC based Shutter Door Installation
• International Arrival: The system that manages incoming passenger baggage by transporting it from aircraft unloading through screening and conveyor systems to the reclaim carousels for passenger collection.
1. 2 sets of Reclaim Carousels,
2. PLC based Control Panel with Operator Panel.
3. PLC based Shutter Door Installation
• The Materials supply Contract of Aeronautical Ground Lights (AGL).
• Supply of GRP poles for PALS-28 and SALS-10 all required Accessories of materials supply in Gautam Buddha Airport Upgrading Component, Nepal.

• The Way Finding Signage Works of the International Terminal Building of Gautam Buddha Airport Upgrading Component.
• The AGL system installation works at Gautam Buddha Airport Upgrading Component.
• The Procurement and Installation of Equipment for Airport Lighting Control and Monitoring System (ALCMS) and Control Panel of Flood lighting Systems.
• Supplement Agreement of AGL and related accessories supply for AGL at Gautam Buddha Airport Upgrading Component, Nepal.
Impact
Upgrading The Baggage Handling System reduced wait times and minimized the risk of lost or delayed luggage, directly improving passenger satisfaction. Furthermore, these enhancements solidified Gautam Buddha International Airport’s position as a reliable secondary international gateway to Nepal The successful execution of the GBIA Upgrading Component has had a transformative effect on the airport's operational capabilities and passenger experience. The installation of the modern Baggage Handling System significantly reduced baggage wait times and minimized the risk of lost or mishandled luggage, resulting in a noticeably smoother and more reliable journey for travelers.
The deployment of advanced Airfield Ground Lighting (AGL) systems, along with the Airport Lighting Control and Monitoring System (ALCMS), has greatly enhanced airfield safety and operational precision enabling more dependable flight operations, particularly under low-visibility conditions. Complementing this, the installation of GRP poles, CCR/ASO equipment, and flood lighting control panels has ensured consistent and uninterrupted airside illumination, meeting stringent international civil aviation standards.
Wayfinding signage improvements at the International Terminal Building have made passenger navigation more intuitive, reducing congestion and improving the overall flow within the terminal. Meanwhile, the addition of elevators at the terminal has enhanced accessibility for all passengers, including those with reduced mobility.
Collectively, these upgrades have reinforced Gautam Buddha International Airport's standing as a credible and capable secondary international gateway to Nepal — one that is better equipped to handle growing air traffic volumes while upholding the safety, efficiency, and service quality expected of a modern international airport.
Conclusion
The Gautam Buddha Airport Upgrading Component successfully transformed the airport’s infrastructure by integrating advanced lighting systems, modern equipment, and efficient baggage handling solutions. These improvements have enhanced safety, streamlined operations, and elevated the overall passenger experience. By meeting international standards and supporting increased air traffic, the project strengthens Nepal’s aviation capabilities and reinforces Gautam Buddha International Airport as a dependable gateway for both domestic and international travel. The Gautam Buddha International Airport Upgrading Component has successfully delivered a comprehensive modernization of the airport's core infrastructure. Through the installation of advanced Airfield Ground Lighting (AGL) systems, the Airport Lighting Control and Monitoring System (ALCMS), modern Baggage Handling System, CCR/ASO equipment, GRP poles, flood lighting control panels, wayfinding signage, and terminal elevators, the project has addressed critical gaps in safety, operations, and passenger services.
These improvements have resulted in enhanced airfield safety, more efficient baggage processing, better passenger navigation, and improved accessibility throughout the terminal. All works have been completed in compliance with international civil aviation standards, positioning Gautam Buddha International Airport as a reliable and modern gateway for both domestic and international travel.
