Overview
The project comprised the supply, delivery, installation, and testing of a dual-view cargo scanner and an explosive trace detector (ETD) for the domestic terminal at Tribhuvan International Airport, Sinamangal, Kathmandu. The client was the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN), project reference SF-80-2734. The project ran 11 months and was completed on 29 December 2024.
Scope & Deliverables
- Cargo Scanner (Dual View) fitted with Super Enhancement, HI-TIP+, TIPS Library, SDTS, Barcode Reader, HI-Spots, Xplore, and Opti-Zoom features for cargo inspection.
- Explosive Trace Detector (ETD), installed and tested with full accessories.
- Supportive equipment and accessories: operator console; external displays for luggage, X-ray hours, and operation hours; barcode reader hardware and software; UPS with battery bank; stainless steel chairs; pallet slider/roller table; and calibration toolkits.
- Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) and pre-shipment testing.
- Technical maintenance training at the manufacturer's facility and local training for airport staff.
Outcome
The cargo scanner and ETD were installed, tested, and commissioned at the domestic terminal of Tribhuvan International Airport, and handed over to CAAN. Airport staff completed local training alongside manufacturer-facility maintenance training, and the equipment was accepted following factory acceptance and pre-shipment testing.
