Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA), Nepal’s busiest and most critical aviation hub, is committed to ensuring the safety and security of passengers and airport operations. To strengthen its security infrastructure, the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) initiated the “Supply, Delivery, Installation and Testing of Airport Security Checkpoint System” project.
This project focuses on upgrading and modernizing airport security systems in line with the National Civil Aviation Security regulations and ICAO Annex 17 guidelines, reinforcing the airport’s role as a secure gateway for international and domestic travel.
Scope of Work
The project encompasses the supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of advanced security screening systems designed to enhance passenger safety and streamline checkpoint operations.
Key deliverables include:
✓ Hand Baggage X-ray Machines (Dual View) with operator consoles and baggage rollers.
✓ Hold Baggage X-ray Machines (Dual View) with calibration tools, maintenance toolkits, and accessories.
✓ Walk-Through Metal Detectors (WTMDs) and Hand-Held Metal Detectors (HHMDs) for efficient passenger screening.
✓ Supporting Infrastructure, including UPS systems, modular tables, baggage trays, and maintenance tools.
✓ Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Specialized Training for operators to ensure smooth operation and sustainability of the system.
