The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) undertook the Supply, Delivery, Installation, and Commissioning of Security Screening X-Ray Machines across multiple domestic airports in Nepal. The project aimed to strengthen passenger safety and airport security by providing state-of-the-art screening equipment and associated infrastructure.

The project aligns with national aviation security regulations and international best practices, ensuring passengers and airport operations are protected through efficient and reliable screening processes.

Scope of Work

This project included the supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of advanced security screening systems, comprising both Hand Baggage and Hold Baggage X-Ray Machines. The scope also included supporting equipment, maintenance tools, and operator training to ensure seamless operations.


Key deliverables included:

✓ Dual View Hold Baggage X-Ray Machines with monitoring systems, control desks, and calibration kits.

✓ Dual View Hand Baggage X-Ray Machines with software, monitors, and trays for laptops, purses, and shoes.

✓ UPS Systems and Battery Banks for uninterrupted operations.

✓ Baggage Sliders/Roller Tables for smooth baggage handling at entry and exit points.

✓ Calibration Tools, Test Cases, and X-Ray Dose Meters for precise operations.

✓ Transportation to Destination Airports and installation materials.

✓ Comprehensive Training including Factory Acceptance Test (FAT), local operation, and maintenance training for staff.

This robust infrastructure ensures accurate passenger screening, faster throughput at security checkpoints, and compliance with aviation safety standards.
