Procurement and installation of equipment for the Airport Lighting Control and Monitoring System (ALCMS) and Control Panel of Flood Lighting Systems at Gautam Buddha International Airport (BWA), Bhairahawa, Rupandehi, Nepal. The client was the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN), with works executed under Northwest Civil Aviation Airport Construction Group Co., Ltd. The project ran from February 2021 to June 2022, a duration of 1 year and 4 months, and was completed on 15 June 2022.
Scope & Deliverables
- Installation of an LV Control Panel to manage the low-voltage power supply for lighting systems.
- Installation of an LV Main Distribution & Control Panel providing centralized power distribution to the airport lighting infrastructure.
- Integration of these panels as the backbone of the Airport Lighting Control and Monitoring System (ALCMS), enabling control and monitoring of runway, taxiway, and apron lights.
- Installation of Flood Lighting Control Panels for the apron areas.
Outcome
The LV control and distribution panels and the ALCMS backbone were installed and handed over to CAAN, giving operators centralized control and monitoring of runway, taxiway, and apron lighting. The Flood Lighting Control Panels provide lit apron areas for night-time aircraft movements and ground operations at Gautam Buddha International Airport.
