Overview
The project covered the supply, delivery, installation, testing, and commissioning of LED smart street lights in Lalitpur, executed by a Crompton - MSI joint venture for the Nepal Electricity Authority, Energy Efficiency and Loss Reduction Department, with Lalitpur Municipality as the end user, under reference SF-80-2792. The contract was completed on 15 January 2022 over a duration of 2 years and 5 months, and covered smart LED luminaires, steel tubular poles, LT ABC cables, energy meters, and a Central Control and Monitoring System (CCMS) for real-time management, monitoring, and billing of street lighting operations.
Scope & Deliverables
- Design, manufacturing, inspection, and testing of equipment at the manufacturer's works under Quality Assurance Procedure (QAP)
- Supply and installation of LED smart street lights in 120W, 80W, and 50W ratings
- Installation of 9m steel tubular poles, crossarms, and LT ABC cables
- Installation of energy meters and dismantling of old poles
- Setup of servers, routers, and lighting management software
- Establishment of a Central Control and Monitoring System (CCMS)
- Site operations including unloading, handling, storage, assembly, touch-up painting, and installation at designated sites
Outcome
The smart street lighting system was inspected, tested, and its performance demonstrated during the warranty period, then commissioned and handed over. Lalitpur Municipality received an LED street lighting network with centralized monitoring, management, and billing of operations through the CCMS.
